The Connected Mallorca Christmas Party 2024
It’s hard to know where to start when writing about this years Connected Mallorca Christmas party, especially as I sit here struggling to keep up with all the messages and comments from people saying how amazing it was!
There was a short moment where I wasn’t sure if we should even do one or not this year. The season had been crazy busy and before I knew what was happening we were in November. We had already had a very successful season finale at Amok and people were now starting to ask “when’s the Christmas Party??”
Last year we threw our first Connected Christmas party which was a fantastic night at Tabana – everyone loved it so it seemed like the natural choice to return there.
After speaking with the venue though they had already decided to do their own party this year so that meant a decision had to be made – and fast.
Do we or don't we??
The parties for me create a crazy amount of work and often require time and energy that I struggle to find due to how busy we now are on the concierge side of the business. The events and parties are a little sideline (fast becoming a monster!).
The truth is though that I love doing these parties. As many of you know I spent my first 13 years here in Mallorca working in nightlife – managing bars and clubs on the Magaluf strip back in the early 2000’s. The hours were crazy and I often worked 7 nights a week for 8 months with 2/3 nights off in that whole time – if I was lucky.
No matter how many nights I had worked though, there was simply no better feeling than walking down to the club pulling back the curtain and seeing the place packed with people all having an amazing time at a night you’d helped to create. This is a feeling I miss and one that the events are helping to fill a void for.
So as quickly as the idea entered my head not to do one it was instantly replaced with “we HAVE to do a Christmas Party!”
This had to be next level
It was now time to find a venue, as we head into December in Mallorca with it being low season options are very limited with the boxes I need them to tick in order to consider venues suitable.
Then one night driving on the Passeo in Palma I drove past Lio – it wasn’t open but the whole entrance and the famous elevators were all lit up – it grabbed my attention instantly and my gut was trying to tell me from that moment this was the place.
As I ran the idea by a few of my closest friends and partner the feedback wasn’t super positive – but I realised they were thinking it would be difficult to replicate another Tabana Christmas party in there – but they were missing the point – I now didn’t want another Tabana party – this had to be something completely different, something next level.
Now to convince the venue
After initially reaching out to Lio I had the not so easy task of convincing them to not only allow me to use their venue but also to allow free entry to my guestlist and without the usual spend guarantees or venue hire that a place like this commands. Not easy with a company that size.
Fortunately I have now done 5 events before this one so we had some proof at least of the quality of nights we put on and can show the type of clientele a Connected Party attracts. That’s all well and good but obviously there is never a guarantee that anyone will show!
After 2 meetings and a heated video call where the whole thing nearly collapsed I was very happy to say that Lio had agreed to my proposal and the stage was now set for the Christmas Party 2024.
Announcement time
It was announcement time – always key to get a true feel if your party venue and idea is going to have a chance or not. From the moment I posted the announcement video the guestlist requests went into overdrive – I announced that this year’s party was of course going to be at Lio but this year was going to be a Christmas Gala – with a black & gold theme – and everyone just seemed to go crazy for it.
I could hardly keep up with the number of requests I was getting which was an amazing feeling but also of course that brings the added pressure – this HAD to be a good one!!
I have to say after the idea was accepted by Lio the whole team there were fantastic to work with and got behind my concept 100% – they accepted all my crazy ideas and requests, gave some fantastic input of their own and by the time the party came around the venue looked incredible!
Everything happens for a reason

From my own perspective I believe this is the best party we have done so far, I think we took things to another level with this one and based on the feedback we had in the following days I think many people agree.
Crazy to think that if Tabana had said yes then this event would never have happened – remember everything happens for a reason!
The Connected Community
I would just like to thank every single one of you who attends these events, the effort you all put in with your outfits and the energy you bring is what motivates me to want to do more and more – if you keep supporting then Connected Parties will be around for many years to come!
There’s big plans for the future and lot’s of ideas I have for this amazing Connected Community of people that we have put together, for now though it’s time for some much needed rest, as I write this from a beach in Madagascar I will leave you all to enjoy the photos.
